What happens in Auschwitz

Imre Kertész: Liquidation

LiquidationNot bad, highly influenced by Bernhard. Centered around the suicide of a writer, Bé, with a dark past, the story is narrated by the deceased’s best friend. Ripe with tumultuous love affairs, dark voyages into the past, the book is a play within a play, a sad Auschwitz story that just does not end that easily; it haunts Bé all through his life, agonizes him, takes away his will to live, but the question is: is he willing to go without leaving a legacy?
